The Sea Foam Motel (MP 16.5) is located on the beachfront at MP 16.5 in Nags Head, NC along the uncrowded and historic Outer Banks 'OBX' beaches, with close access to the mainland bridges. Known for friendly, personal service and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, we offer our guests a relaxed environment and throwback reminder of vacations taken during years gone by. Many guests have been coming here for 20, 30 or even 40 years. You can walk to any of the many events held at the Outer Banks Event site or next door to Jennett's Pier, one of four NC Aquarium locations, to fish, stroll, or enjoy exhibits and events. Several fine restaurants, a market, and ice cream shop are also a short stroll from the motel. Fine outlet stores are located next to the event site. It is a short drive to a hike up Jockey's Ridge to fly a kite, watch the sunset, or just enjoy the view. Nearby, you can also enjoy the view at the Wright Brothers Memorial or hear a park ranger revisit the history of the first airplane flight. Just over the bridge lies the historic town of Manteo with restaurants, small shops and the historical Lost Colony play. Head south into the national seashore parks region where things quickly become even more quiet and visit the Bodie lighthouse, watch the fishermen unload their catch at Oregon Inlet, or continue on to Hatteras Lighthouse and the free ferry to Ocracoke Island. Or you can stay at the motel and enjoy a game of shuffleboard or corn hole, or relax on the patio or under the gazebo. Of course, the beach remains the main attraction, just beyond the gazebo where you can swim, take endless walks, or just sit and read or relax. In the morning you can enjoy a cup of coffee in our gazebo while watching the sunrise. There is always plenty to do at the Sea Foam but it is also a great place to do nothing at all.
